Partner update:  Jenny Lloyd – Action

Jenny Lloyd - Action

Jenny Lloyd – Action

After an intensive recruitment drive and interview process involving Rebecca (RNIB), Mel Austin (Project Board Chairperson) and me, Louise Norgate was the successful candidate. A big welcome to Louise who joins the Silver Dream Team today and has previously worked in the voluntary sector, in Staffordshire. Also:

  • We are establishing a Regional Advisory group comprised of older people and colleagues from the Optic partnership. The group will meet on a regular basis in consultation and to monitor the projects progress.
  • We are very pleased to announce that 13 volunteers have been recruited after our gold opportunity invite to Coffee and Cake events at the Stoke and Stafford offices (many thanks to the local CVS for their contribution!). Key volunteer roles will involve delivering the empowerment training sessions, offering emotional and practical support to people with a sight loss and organising activities/special interest groups.

There are still opportunities to participate in Optic – see our Get Involved section
